Silver Tip Badger Hair Shaving Brushes

I am very pleased to be able to offer these handmade shaving brushes! The finest silver tip badger hair is used in each brush to guaranty a phenomenal shave. These brushes are absolutely wonderful and make exceptional gifts. The silver tip badger hair is simply the best grade of badger hair available for shaving. I import the brush heads in two sizes (25mm and 20mm knots) and make the custom wood handles individually in my shop. Each brush is made and assembled by hand. The shape of the handle is designed to fit comfortably in a large or small hand and can be gripped by the top knob or the center cove. This ensures that the brush will be easy to use and comfortable in any position. A hand crafted shaving brush is sure to impress even the most discerning man.

The large brushes feature a 25mm brush knot which has bristles that reach 2.75 inches from the rim of the handle. The bristles are 2.5 inches wide at the bulb. The entire brush is over 5.5 inches tall and weighs approximately 2.5 oz (dry). The small brushes feature a 20mm brush knot which has bristles that are 2.5 inches from the handle rim and 2.25 inches at the widest part.

Once the brushes are used, they should be hung with the bristles pointing downward to dry properly. They will then dry with the bristles puffed out (called a blossom) and be much greater in width. These brushes will fit most shaving brush stands that are 4 inches high or taller. Each brush comes with a document that describes the wood and includes directions for "wet shaving" (using a brush to lather up). I am hoping to offer stands in the future as well.

Special Note: I've gotten some inquiries as to the origin of the wood and hair for these brushes. All the exotic wood used is purchased from reputable sources and does not come from endangered habitats. For example, the Cocobolo wood is from the west coast of Central America. Cocobolo is farmed in Costa Rica on privately owned "fincas" (farms) so it is not harvested from the rainforests there.

The badger hair is imported from China where small village co-ops farm the animals and harvest the hair just before summer so that it can grow back before winter time (the badgers are not harmed). This information came to me directly from a representative of the company in China that supplies the hair. So I am quite satisfied that no endangered or protected species are affected by the use of Chinese badger hair in shaving brushes.
